INTRODUCING OUR COURSE
Nestled among the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, once you have played this magnificent course, like many other golfers, you will want to return year after year.
The Club moved to its current site in 1896 and has matured over the years into one of the most picturesque golf courses in the North of England.
Recent years have seen some of the biggest changes to the course in its history with a revised layout launched in August 2018, including three newly designed and professionally constructed holes. Additionally, many other changes have only served to enhance the beauty and the challenge of this Yorkshire Dales course.
HOLE BY HOLE
Plan your round by browsing through the tabs below, which contain a detailed hole schematic along with a handy tip from Peter our Pro.
Pro’s Tip:
1st hole requires a straight drive with out of bounds to the left and trees waiting for a stray shot to the right. Comfortable 3 shots for an average golfer, possible 2 shots for “risk and reward” long straight drive.

Pro’s Tip:
With the fairway sloping slightly from left to right a good drive left of centre will leave a short to mid iron into the green. Everything tends to favour the left side of this green on the approach as most shots tend to bounce right on this small green.

Pro’s Tip:
Long Par 4 requires a good straight drive aimed at a single tree over the brow of the hill. This should open the green to a long to mid iron into a green with bunkers left and right.

Pro’s Tip:
A short but well guarded par 3 with one bunker front left and two on the right waiting to capture shots straying off-line.

Pro’s Tip:
Downhill tree lined par 4. A good straight drive leaves a mid to short iron into the green. Nothing for long behind this green.

Pro’s Tip:
Picture card looking par 3 but trouble all over. From the back tees a 175yd carry over Eller Beck onto the green.

Pro’s Tip:
A long testing par 4 requiring two good hits to make the green. A drive left of centre should leave a long iron or fairway wood approach to an elevated green.

Pro’s Tip:
From the elevated championship tees this final tee shot over the dam needs to be left of centre. This should leave a mid to short iron approach to the Mackenzie green with a bunker front right catching any mishit shots. Yellow or red tees at 256 and 247yds respectively make a significant difference to this hole with a “risk reward” decision to go for the green off the tee.
