Peter Robinson, PGA Professional

Peter Robinson has been Skipton’s long-serving PGA Professional for more than a quarter of a century, making a long-lasting impression on all who come into contact with him.

He first started playing golf aged around ten as a junior member at Colne in the late 1970s, quickly making an impact when winning the Lancashire Boys Championship and representing the county at both boy and colt level.

He was playing off scratch by the time he was 16, turning pro at the age of 18 and becoming assistant in 1984 to Ilkley GC professional John Hammond, who also ran the pro’s shop at Skipton, giving Peter his first introduction to the club.

In 1992, Skipton required its own pro and approached Peter to take over. The rest, as they say, is history.

He has enjoyed playing with members and guests, and is always ready, willing and able to provide expert help and advice, along with lessons that over many years have nurtured the talents of both young, aspiring golfers and countless others looking to improve their game.

Peter is a former Yorkshire PGA captain and served as president in 2011/12, also representing the county team on many occasions.

He runs his own well-stocked pro’s shop, offering top name brands in golf equipment, clothing and footwear, plus all the accessories any golfer could possibly require from his ‘one-stop pro’s shop.’

Peter can be contacted on 01756 795657 ext 3, option 2.
