40 pairs took part in the latest Senior’s Open on Thursday September 12th.
The weather was cool but dry in the morning but some heavy showers later, including hail, didn’t help the later starters.
In spite of this, the competitors were full of compliments about the condition of the course and most promised to return next year.
Winners with 43 points were Stephen Sear from Ogbourne Downs (Swindon) and his cousin, Colin Harness from Doncaster winning £100 each.
Second place with 42 points (back nine 22) were William Clarke and Cliff Newby from Springfield Golf Club (Rochdale). They win £70 each.
Third place, with another 42 points (back nine 21), were Martin Hill and John Caveney from Bury Golf Club. They win £50 each.
Fourth, also with 42 points (back nine 20 points) were John Robinson and Richard Bews from Knaresborough who win £20 each.
Congratulations to all our winners and to everyone who played. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
