WOMEN’S OPEN : 4 October 2024 Results

Thank you  to all the women who took part in our final Women's Open of 2024. Winners from Ulverston and Dunnerholme collecting £40 each were Trudy Hubbard, Sue Chapman, Lynne Diggle and Angie Hill with 88 points. Runners Up from Clitheroe were Jayne O'Sullivan, Debbie Catlow, Valerie Fairless and Stephanie Robinson with 81 points and £25 each. We hope you enjoyed the day and will be back at Skipton in 2025.  Information on our Open Events will soon be posted on our website.

MEN’S OPEN 22 SEPTEMBER RESULTS

We would like to thank the 96 entrants who took part in our final Men's Open of 2024 yesterday (Sunday 22 September). The winners with 87 points (B9:44) and collecting £75 each were Gary Darbyshire, Glynn Dodd, Craig Currie & Mark Elliott from Accrington, Great Harwood & Wilpshire. In second place also with 87 points and a back nine of 43 were William Holt, Miles Bentley, Tom Duvall and Chris Jones from Pannal and Pleasington each receiving £50. The third and final place (again with 87 points and a back nine of 40 points) went to David Brooks, Nick Gill, Rob Timmins and Stephen Kilby from York, Ripon & Thirsk who each won £25. We would like to thank everyone for taking part, hope you all enjoyed the course & hospitality at Skipton and look forward to seeing you again in 2025

SENIORS OPEN 12 SEPTEMBER : RESULTS

40 pairs took part in the latest Senior’s Open on Thursday September 12th. The weather was cool but dry in the morning but some heavy showers later, including hail, didn’t help the later starters. In spite of this, the competitors were full of compliments about the condition of the course and most promised to return next year. Winners with 43 points were Stephen Sear from Ogbourne Downs (Swindon) and his cousin, Colin Harness from Doncaster winning £100 each. Second place with 42 points (back nine 22) were William Clarke and Cliff Newby from Springfield Golf Club (Rochdale). They win £70 each. Third place, with another 42 points (back nine 21), were Martin Hill and John Caveney from Bury Golf Club. They win £50 each. Fourth, also with 42 points (back nine 20 points) were John Robinson and Richard Bews from Knaresborough who win £20 each. Congratulations to all our winners and to everyone who played.  We look forward to seeing you again soon.

MIXED OPEN RESULTS : 1 SEPTEMBER 2024

Thank you to all competitors who took part in our Mixed Open on 1 September  and congratulations to the winners John Gilbertson, Shirley Gilpin, Daniel Wright and Jennifer Lea from Chorley & Carus Green who, with 90 points, took first place and £55 each. In second place after a back nine countback were Robert & Lynne Burke with Steve & Carolyn Clode from Kirkby Lonsdale with 85 points each winning £40. Taking third place, again with 85 points and after a back 3 countback, were Kenneth & Lynne Craven (Wilpshire) and Peter & Debbie Catlow (Clitheroe) who all receive £30. Our Professional, Peter Robinson, will be in touch with the winners to give details about their prizes. We hope everyone enjoyed playing the course and will return to one of our Opens in 2025.

SUMMER MIXED OPEN RESULT

The Summer Mixed Open took place on a beautiful sunny June day. Winners of the 4BBB Stableford competition were Adam Stansfield (Bracken Ghyll) and Nicola Gamble (Skipton) with 45 points who both won £60. In second place (£45 each) with 42 points were Mark & Hazel Cadman from Oulton Hall. Third place went to Ian Davies (Southport Old Links) and Diane Cooper (Ashton in Makerfield) with 41 points (£30 each) Fourth and final place with 41 points after a back nine countback went to Carl & Julie Livesey (Outlane) who each won £20. Our professional, Peter Robinson will be in touch with the winners to pass on information regarding their prize vouchers Thank you to everyone who took part and we hope to see you back at Skipton again (either this year on 1 September) or in 2025.

JUNIOR OPEN

The first Junior Open at Skipton Golf Club was held on Sunday 27 May.  Although the weather wasn't at its best there were competitors from 6 clubs.  The results were as follows:- 1st with 40 points Seth Rawlinson (Skipton) 2nd with 36 points Daniel Kirby (Normanton) 35 pts Joe Wade from Otley GC (BB9) 35 pts Josiah Stockhill Shipley (BB6) 35 pts Austin Ramsey Ripon City 34 pts Archie Greenwood Jowett Ilkley 29 pts Milo Mitchell Moortown (BB9) 29 pts Lotte Tole Skipton We hope everyone enjoyed the course and will be back to play again in our Junior Open in 2025!

Junior Open Results

We would like to thank all of the participants in yesterday’s first Junior Open held at Skipton Golf Club.  The results were:- 1st  Lennon Seiles (Ashby Decoy GC) with 32 points (B9 20) 2nd Edmund Clay ( Huddersfield GC) with 32 points (B9 16) 3rd Poppi Markwell (Hessle GC) with 31 points The winner receives a voucher for £40, second £30 and third place receives a voucher for £20.  We hope you all enjoyed our course and will come back next year ! Seniors Autumn Open

The final Seniors Open of the 2023 season took place on Thursday 14 September. The results were :- 1st prize of £80 each to Ken Woolford and Iain Hunter from Hanging Heaton Golf Club (10.00 am start) with 45 points 2nd prize of £50 each to Neil Lomas and Joe Desa from York Golf Club (11.00 am start) with 42 points and a back nine of 21 points 3rd prize of £35 each to John Robinson and Richard Bews from Knaresborough Golf Club (10.50 am start) and a back nine of 18 points We would like to thank all of the participants and hope to see you all again at Skipton in 2024.

MIXED OPEN : 25 June RESULTS

The Summer Mixed Open took place on Sunday 25 June.  First place with 46 points and £80 went to Daniel Wright and Jennifer Lea from Chorley.  Ryan Nock from Waterton Park and Joanne Robinson from Skipton came in second with 44 points and collected £60 each.  In third place winning £40 each were Steve & Julie Langton from Oakdale with 43 points (after countback) and fourth place went to Jim & Anne McFeat from Fairhaven who also had 43 points and won £30 each. We hope everyone enjoyed the course and will be back to play again in one of our Opens either later this year or in 2024.

LADIES OPEN : 23 June RESULTS

A very well attended Ladies Open Competition took place on Friday 23 June with fabulous weather, the course being in great condition.  The rain stayed at bay until the last ladies finished.  There were some excellent scores and we received many compliments on the course and our hospitality.  We raised £462 for this year’s Club Charity – Sue Ryder Manorlands.  Thank you for all your support. The winning team of  Judy Lovett, Carol Capstick, Cath Halstead & Agnes Crohill from Bentham with 101 points (scoring 33 points on the par 5s) receiving £75 each.  In second place were Susan Horridge, Janet Payne, Karen Dowling & Eileen Mallinson from Greenmount with 96 points receiving £55 each and in third place were Jane Phillips, Margaret Rush, Sue Ashby & Christine Nuttall from Bacup with 92 points receiving £30 each.
