Skipton Golf Club is a Community Amateur Sports Club, and as such is dedicated to providing facilities for all. Maintenance of a high quality golf course is an expensive business, and members have to fund it. However, to keep the facilities within the reach of as wide a section of the public as possible, concessionary membership is available at an annual cost of £456.
Concessionary membership is open to anybody who meet the following criteria based on Craven District Council’s Concession Card (which offers reduced rates for sports activities at Craven Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre for those who qualify). The offer only applies to all who are in receipt of:
- Job seekers allowance
- Income support
- Housing benefit
- Disability living allowance
- Carers allowance
- Incapacity benefit
Application is to the Skipton Golf Club Ltd. board (as are all membership applications) and must be supported by a notification letter advising the applicant of eligibility for the benefit in question. The concessionary rate must be applied for every year to ensure continuing eligibility.
The club will consider applications for concessionary membership from people with low or modest means who do not meet the criteria based on Craven District Council’s Concession Card who can satisfactorily demonstrate that they are unable to pay the full membership fee.
