SKIPTON JUNIORS GOLF
Skipton Golf Club (part of the Harrogate & District Union of Golf Clubs), has a thriving Junior Section, providing equal opportunities for both boys and girls of any age and ability to participate in and enjoy golf in a safe and secure environment, supported by expert coaching and club and inter-club competitions.
As a junior member of Skipton Golf Club, your child will have access to our stunning 18-hole course and the opportunity to learn with our junior academy coach Ben Mallinson (PGA Professional).
Ben started playing Golf at the age of 8 and represented the Yorkshire Union at both under 18’s and senior level. Ben has played on the British Master Card Tour and Challenge Tour. Ben’s aim is to improve all aspects of the game; driving, iron play and short game to golfers at all levels.
Golf offers numerous benefits for children that extend beyond the green fairways. Firstly, it promotes physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Golf also teaches valuable life skills such as patience, perseverance, and sportsmanship. It instills a strong sense of discipline as young golfers learn to adhere to the rules and etiquette of the game. Additionally, golf fosters social interaction and teamwork, as it often involves playing in groups and learning to respect others’ turns and opinions. Perhaps most importantly, golf introduces children to a sport that they can enjoy throughout their lives, offering them a recreational hobby that can provide new friendships, physical fitness and support for their mental health for years to come.

As an established juniors section we are always looking to develop and grow. With regular juniors’ competitions and coaching sessions, what better way to encourage kids to engage in outdoor activities, get fit, and help their coordination and balance.

THE BRIAN RASCHE JUNIOR ACADEMY
Skipton Golf Club’s ‘Brian Rasche Junior Academy’ opened in March 2022. Incorporating a swing studio and golf simulator it is set to boost junior and beginner coaching.
Access to the Academy is free for junior members of the club but they must be accompanied by an adult. Other members will pay for either coaching, practice or competitive private golf sessions with friends.
SIMULATOR OPENING TIMES : 08:30 – 17:00 (times may vary during summer months)
